Another event and we are slowly coming to an end of a fast season! We had some new faces this event as some players have moved up or a few teams have disappeared. However we are still 10 strong in this division with the addition of the Bathurs team and the return of the Knockout team who had a by from Event 2.
The games were great. A cinderella team Peticodiac Predator. Who have finally seem to find their footing of always getting into the finals after the first event of getting last place.
Eager to see what the last event will hold.
Pictures of the winners are below. As well a video of the event.
Also the galleries of cx4 will go online today. However the site is running slow i’m going to be upgrading the website. If the site is fine with you great. If not i do appologize.
I have to say the competition at the CXBL level is certainly rising every year. And with XBall.com finally condensing the league down to 6 teams this year, it made for closer match games.
Scores of the Day:
Fishstiks - 10-9 - Halifax City United
Daytona - 7-10 - Strict Union
Halifax City United - 10-4 - Sheilds
Strict Union - 13-5 - Kamikaze
Fishstiks - 9-10 - Sheilds
Strict Union - 9-6 - Halifax City United
A team I travel with every year Strict Union was alittle shaky the first game barely beating Daytona. However they certainly came to show they were there for the Gold this year, destroying what was said to be the team to beat this season; Kamikaze. While Kamikaze didn’t have their pro’s that event (cody of Aftermath) it still made quite a mark on the eastern division of how strong Strict Union was.
While some teams were strong with pro’s brought in SU next match up vs Halifax City United was rather an opposite game. Halifax City United relying on pro’s to help out towards the end of the match; yet not able to make the comeback. Very good game of the Atlantic battle.
Below is a video of the HCU vs Sheilds games, After a first lost for Halifax, they had to come back fighting and ended up beating the Sheilds 10-4.

This season will be a great one. A league i used to shoot about 2 years ago and finally getting back on the horse with them again. I have to say this is finally what the atlantic paintball community needed. Truly the best players playing and having a team from every province in Atlantic Canada makes for a great Atlantic division.
Saturday games began with CX4 division starting at 9am. Blow out? probably more than what people were expecting. Alot of “green” paintball teams taking their hobby to the next level and becoming competitive. With a taste of their first tournament they will certainly need to go back to the drawing board and reanalyze their faults and work on them. Yet isn’t that the whole point of the cx4 division? Get a taste of of the adrenaline sport and fine tune yourself? Certainly it is. Eager to see what these’s teams look like at the end of the season.
I would like to congratulate one of mission and eastern paintball supplies shop 1st place winner Oromocto CX4 team. Winning 4 guns.

R.D. Chisholm getting the only goal of the STFX vs SMU game!
I know i’m abit late on this post, but after watching the STFX vs UNB game on webcast, i’m excited to see two more W for X here at their home rink. The Double Overtime game last night showed X isn’t giving up without a fight to the 1st place UNB team. With the series 1-1 now, we will see how the next two home games play out.
Theses photos and video are from the SMU vs X game 4 that SMU got the victory over X on. However X may have lost this battle they took the W at game 5 at the forum rink in halifax.

X Woman taking it home this year. St Francis Xavier University hosted this years 2011 AUS championship. Maybe giving an edge to the STFX with the fan. Certainly tho the team was here to play this year. With having 18 wins of the 24 games last year, this year then had a perfect record. Making them the biggest contender for the championship. Each game was a blow out. First with playing Mount A crushing them 6-1 then moving on to Dalhousie with a win over them by 9-2. At some point fans must have wondered. When is there going to be a challenge? Well it finally came time for the Gold metal match. However to what a viewer would think would be a Great match up wasn’t. By the end of first period STFX already had a lead. then came to 2nd period when they started making the grave for UdeM (university of Moncton) chance on even coming back.
This game though quickly came to an end in the 3rd quarter when x had over a 5 point lead on UdeM and still wouldn’t let up. They managed to finish the game of 9-2 with X taking the AUS trophy home and headed to Laurier for the CIS Canadian National Championship.
Here’s a few shots:
Xwoman getting high fives from their favorite fans
Best describes the game, UdeM just simply not matching St.FX with a final score of the AUS finals of 9-2 for X
X getting their much deserved Trophy for the Atlantic conference finals!
Back in halifax for the 3rd weekend. With Friday night starting right away at 8:15 Saint Mary basketball team vs St. FX certainly a great game to watch. I’ve had others tell me that STFX is always a second half team. Which i would agree. After watching this game, they STFX trailing at the half. However like usual they came back, i was betting on over 8 and STFX team wouldn’t let me down. Beating SMU by 18… 111 to 93

Well to where we were as a high the second game on March 5th at the Metro Center in Halifax came to be the nightmare. Dalhousie simply put got a lead, and didn’t let it go. At points of the game X was down by 20 points then brought it to a 5 point game at times. However it seemed they couldn’t get past that 5 point spread. Now theres many fans calling into question about some players that were left one, however with Will silver and a few others out from fouls and injuries. X would finally fold to Dalhousie in the final seconds.
Christian Upshaw
Maybe an unsong hero, however I found Dwayne played great in this game. I think paired with Alberto the game would have been different.
Last minute attempts to close that 5 point gap with 3 pointers.
Interesting day. Finally got to shoot two new sports that i have never shot. Boxing and Synchro swimming. Synchro swimming is very different, trying to get those clean backgrounds that i have learned from the experience photographers are a bit rough to get. But from high up its easy. I took the harder approach of sitting pool level and trying it.
We went to the 7:00PM Boxing games at the Forum boxing arena in Halifax Nova Scotia. It was hard to shoot since we couldn’t sit at the level of the mat. So we went to the fan seating above. But thinking back maybe should have left my 70-200 and 24-70 against the mat and look up to get the clean background… oh well.
Here was the Forum Boxing Arena:
Here what we have for photos and a video
Saskatchewan for third, British Columbia for second and Prince Edward Island (PEI) for first

And our video of the Boxing of Nova Scotia fight for gold!
I really don’t know how to describe it… Amazing? Daring? Adrenaline rush? Let try a 5 second clip to describe it better: (here is Jeremy Page in the qualifier)
We were at Martok today for Snowboarding halfpipe. To say that i ever shot anything like this before… Well i haven’t. It was rough at first, however i think i got the hang of it. I think this was the funniest event to shoot. Fast pace, amazing jumps = amazing shots.
Plus not to mention the crowds that were there… Large in number and it added to the tricks. Hear the big “ou and aww”.
Anyways, we had NS gain 2 more silvers medals for the two dvision, men and woman. And having Ontario at the top. Jeremy Page and Dallas Rourke gained their silver.
One sport i have to say that is odd to photograph has to be Ping Pong… err. should i say Table Tennis. Just so you know. Ping Pong is what people do in their basement for fun with friends that can barely play. Table Tennis is the real deal. Fast pace and as the movie would be titled “Balls of Fury.” It quite something to see. While i didn’t get the shot i wanted of the crosseye player and the ball just right at his face i did get a few.
After Table Tennis we went to curling. Men’s curling this time! However it was a bit more busier with all 4 lanes going and 3 teams from the atlantic (NS, PEI and NB) However it wasn’t the same mood as it was when during woman’s curling maybe because it wasn’t a gold metal game. Really i’m not quite sure. But there were some good win’s with New Brunswick beating Saskatchewan 6-2 and then Nova Scotia team beating their close neighbor PEI with the same score of 6-2.
And as always check the Gallery section on my site to see all 20 or so shots.
